I bought my recumbent online for $700, and that was cheap. When they hear you say "recumbent" they automatically calculate knee, ankle, or hip problems and jack the price up 300%. I went with the cheaper model because a lot are not engineered for 350lb+ people. (as it was in my case.) When I get down to a "real" size I will invest in a better bike. I also skipped all the digital "features" I listen to podcasts and audio books and calculate my time on the bike via my iPod. I do not envy you this journey.
