For Steam Crow, having 3 or 5 events in one month is pretty crazy. We’ve got our day-jobs, and we’re trying to keep our lives on track as much as possible.
In a 7 day span we have a comic convention (now done), an art show opening, a live talk, and STEAMCROWEEN, in addition to working our jobs, visiting the dentist, and having a parent-teacher conference with our son and his teacher.
No, I’m not panicking here.
I’m freaking out.
No, not the “I’m-on-my-roof-and-I’m-throwing-shoes-at-the-news-helicopter” freakout, that I’m most fond of. Nope. Not this time.
Rather it’s the “I-was-out-of-my-mind-when-I-agreed-to-all-of-this” kind of headjob.
“Who would schedule all of that?!!”
Well, I did. It’s my own fault.
It’s that lesson I’m going to preach over at Phoenix Design Week on Saturday: Learn to say “no”.
I’m not so green as I didn’t see this coming. But really, the opportunity has just been too great this time around.
APE? Check.
Art hanging at Santy Integrated for PHXDW? Check.
Dentist (scheduled six months ago)? Check. (Gotta have teeth.)
Speaking to my design peers in Phoenix? Check. (And listening too)
Hosting our own Halloween / Steam Crow party (Scheduled 1 year ago)? Check.
Sometimes I guess one has to just go for it, so here we are. It just looked so good on paper.
In truth, a lot of this happened because we’re finally coming to a pleasant break in PHX weather. I’m really excited about all of it.
Where’s the kitchen again?

Man, I hear ya on the busy and the “who made this stupid schedule? I did? Oh.” I tend to forget that one can read one’s calendar, not just write to it. In fact, reading it before writing to it can help avoid this kind of busy.
But, really, who are we kidding? I love every minute of it.
This one really rocks. Love the variation in color. The concept of a gate at the very top of a snowy peak is very cool as well!
