This marks, at least to my highly subjective count, our 500th Monster Commute strip. (Give or take 1 or 2, but we’re definitely there.)
While this number is rather routine for a lot of webcomics, it’s pretty cool to me… I don’t know that I’ve ever made 500 of anything, let alone something that’s taken this much effort or time.
I’ll probably make a big deal out of strip 1000, which we should have by August 2012 or so. Now that I think about it, maybe I SHOULD make a bigger deal out of this. I’m only 1/2 way to 1000.
Anyway, thanks for reading along. It’s sometimes been a bumpy ride, but the Authority isn’t so keen on road upkeep these days. (But seriously, I make this stuff for you.)
Next Month (September 15th) marks our 2 yr anniversary. Zowie.
Who’s bringing the MUZZ? Please send pie and/or corndogs.
- Daniel

Tis a great reason to celebrate! 500 is quite an achievement. I am so happy you do this as I read yours every day. Cant wait to see what adventures are next. Keep up the great work.

Woohoo!

Congrats and all that goodly stuffs.
Thanks Marrock!
Congrats on reaching 500!!! I look forward to each new installment. Can’t wait for the next 500.
Thanks, Andy!
500 is goodly, 1000 will be greatly and 10000 will be OVER 9000!!!!!
Congratz and keep up the awesome.
Thanks, Wesley!
500 and counting! Way to go bud.
Thanks, Nate!
What about corn dog pie??
Ewe!
Congrats!
I don’t think you’d really thank me for sending you a pie by international post…so I shall eat a pie your honor instead. But not a corn dog. Coz we don’t have those here and I don’t really know what they are. I could send you some chocolate fish though if you like (local delicacy). (which I suspect monsters would also enjoy.)
Here’s to the next 500, keep up the awesome work!
Pie or other sent food not required.
You’d best learn about corn dogs though; they’re coming up in the story.
I’ve not had a corn dog in a good year now… I surely miss them, though they are junky junk-food
ah ok, so basically what we more prosaic Kiwis call a “battered sausage”. Though we don’t use cornmeal batter. A classic element in the takeaway fish n chips parcel.
Hmmm… sounds interesting, but not quite the same. The cornmeal is sweat, which compliments the salty/greasy dog.
It’s funny, but in ‘Merica we’ll batter and fry anything… except I’ve never seen a battered sausage. Makes sense and all of that. Just not so common.
Still, I want to visit New Zealand more than I want to eat corndogs.
I’m glad you guys exist.
That is all.
I’m late to the party, but congrats, Daniel! Looking forward to the next 500..
