Just survived the 24 HR Comic Day that was hosted by Spazdog Comics.

We had a good/crazy time, and had many laffs a plenty. We had a great turnout (11 people) and everyone seemed to be hunkering down and trying to get a lot of work done.

Unfortunately, I probably got less done than most folks, as I was just trying to get some MonCom strips done.

I didn’t get nearly as much done as I’d hoped because:

  • I’m used to writing comics in the silence of my plastic dungeon. Not surprisingly, things were not silent. Last year, I’d had my strips scripted out ahead of time, and that would have really helped me out.
  • I’m social, and like to talk to everyone. (Which was my plan going in.) So, I did.
  • I sat next to Dave an Eric of Modern Mythology Press: basically like sitting next to Danny Bonaduchi on meth. Pretty fun until Dave dry humped my chair; then it became just awkward. Later, it got fun again.
  • I started falling asleep in my chair by about 5 am, and I wasn’t getting anything done. So, I left by about 7:30 am instead of the preplanned 12:00.

Lame, I know, but I was just trying to survive. In the end I got a few strips finished, and designed some new characters and settings.

Anyway, thanks to all of the participants and to Spazdog Comics.

I really need need to get some sleep. I’m ded tired. I’m a pod zombie.
