Thomas was generous enough to interview me (again) so I could better show off some of the new stuff we’re featuring at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. (Including our SDCC 09 excusive print!)

Here’s a closeup of a cyclops one. The flower features the fabric from the interior of the bag, in most of them at least.

Dawna has been doing a killer job of upping the quality, as her sewing skills just keep improving. If you’ve never seen one of these in person, you ought to seem them. They’re cool. We’ll be selling them at the San Diego Comic-Con at our Steam Crow booth #4207.

In anycase, these types of events inspire me to create a bunch of new art to offer to you in the form of prints, buttons, and Steam Crow stuff.

Even though I’ve posted about products here and there, I thought that I’d make one masterpost, to show you what’s new, and what to expect.

All start with our core product: Books ($20 each)

Books take the most energy, time, and resources of anything that we produce. We think that you should own some, but that’s just us.

“But what about new stuff?” you say. That’s fair.

Here are some new prints I’ve been working on (mostly 12×18 ($20) and some mini prints ($5):

We’re still waiting for these to arrive, but it’s a quality cotton tote with an ONI ONI Mart logo on both sides. Should be cool. Hopefully, they’ll arrive this week!

New 1 inch buttons ($1 each)

I don’t have any photos yet, but I’ve designed and produced a dozen new buttons: Nosferatu, Kawaii bread, Kawaii Icecreme cone, Kawaii coffee/tea, Boom King, Rhymenoceros, Hip-Hopopotamus, I’m the Motherflippin, MUZZ, As seen on the Webnets, Umbrella rain, Kawaii kitty, Magic Skull.

There’s even a few more mini-prints in the works, though I need to cut it off here sometime soon.

We had a record breaking show, which is always nice to be able to say. It exceeded my expectations, for certain, and continues to make me optimistic about our future.

And no, we couldn’t do this all alone. Special thanks to everyone who helped make this happen for us:

• Kaid Davis, for being patient with us over the past few months while we tried to get stuff done. (Instead of playing.)
• Daryl and BJ Lamfers, for support and watching our goblin for over a week.

I’ve been sculpting on them for what seems like months. Though they were started way back this spring, I ran into all kinds of casting troubles and foibles, which then was made worse when my original got knocked onto the floor by my son, shattering it.

A couple of months later my frustration abated, and I went back to salvaging the project, resulting in these 10 poison bearer idols, fresh and ready for the San Diego Comic-Con.

This first release in copper will be our SDCC exclusive and the first new resin cast from Steam Crow since 2005.

Each Friend idol stands 5 and a half inches tall, and is quite a hefty piece of cast resin. They’re hand painted in steampunk copper, and each one is unique with their own distressing, fault lines, and cracks.

Individual idols hold a tiny little poison flask (empty) which it butlers on a teeny tiny platter. They’re modeled on the Feratu bloodsuckers, from Steam Crow’s Monster Commute webcomic.

10 will be on sale at the Steam Crow Booth at the San Diego Comic-Con, #4207 for $50 each.
