Steampunk OZ Movie Poster
on May 16, 2009 at 7:38 amSo, I love the idea of Steampunk OZ. Really, The Wonderful Wizard of OZ was written in 1900, not far from this mythical age of steam.
Here’s my steampunk movie poster version:
The Tin Man is now the Bronze Woodman, with a bitter hole for a heart. (Inspired by actor Lee Van Cleef.) The Lion is a shy gentleman, surrounded by his friends. The Scarecrow spent time as a carnival strongman, before finding the group. Dorothy is a mechanic (of course), while Toto is a two headed beast.
The Emerald City is a factory city, where thousands of folks toil for OZ.
Update: I’ve added this print to the store (minus the “www.steamcrow.com” bit) for $20, which includes shipping and handling in the USA.

Splendid rendition on an old theme. Not just a picture, but reasoning and character development.
The stress, center fold and less than perfect condition make this poster very real.
(I looked behind the curtain and I think it was YOU! Mister Steamcrow.)
Glad you like it. It’s something that’s been in my head for 3+ years. I tried to do a steampunky Tin Man a long while go, but he was okay. This is a bit better.
This is freaking amazing, man… really nice job!
Dude Oz is public domain, you should totally work this up if you ever take a break from all the other awesome you’re working on.
Yeah, I chose OZ because the WWoO has been in the public domain since 1956 or something. Oh, the projects.
Dood! Weird thing is, I just watched this with my daughter this week-end. Cool coincidence
As always, I love what you do, mon ami!
The cue point to stat the whole album side is at the MGM Lion roar.

Crazy stuff, and a pretty cool idea.
This is incredible. I love it. I think I will be buying a print of it later on after I get paid.
Hey, thank Tyler!
Fantastic! I love the Tin Man. Very inspiring.
Holy monkey nuts!
That’s the coolest thing I’ve seen so far this week.
Glad that you liked it.
I kinda figured that it was up your alley.
