I love tater nuggs, aka “potato nuggets”.
In my hometown of Spokane, Washington, they have a “jo-jos”, which are deep fried potato wedges. Everywhere else I’ve ever lived, they’re just called “potato wedges”.
What’s your addictive regional potato snack called?

Nuggs. hehe
Lefse! Welcome to Minnesnowda. Lots of Idaho Russets, creme, sugar and the ability to rock the rolling pin. You should see Mrs. Smilin’ Phoenix! Arms and shoulders like she gots can put some hurt on ya. Eh?
My Grandma Phoenix used to feed me as much lefse as I could eat. Now, my gal is the Grandma Phoenix and our grands sure know the value of black market lefse.
If you ever get so lost you find yourself here, I will buy the coffee and your first “try” of lefse is on the house!
It is a gateway food.
When I was a kid, my class was the reason the cafeteria stopped serving “tater tots.”
We have fries… seasoned fries… fries with malt vinegar… fries with gravy… cheese fries… chili fries… chili cheese fries… chili cheese fries with gravy… and also curly fries in all the aforementioned configurations.
Poutine. Fries, gravy, cheese and everything quebecois….I wish i had some right now.
Tater tots are my favorite, so I ‘specially loved today’s comic. I shall forever call them tater nuggs now. Thank you!
I had no idea “jo-jo’s” was a Washintonian phrase.
This will keep me from embarrassment in other states.
Thank you.
Potato wedges are plentiful back in Michigan (I’m a Michiganian, not the other term. Have you ever heard of a Washingtander or a Wisconsinder?), but tater tots are all the rage here in Portland. Odd fact: KFC in Canada doesn’t have mashed potatoes. Some sort of corporate war betwixt KFC US and KFC Canada. Or they lied to me ’cause they were out.
Dean,
No. but I have heard of Seattleights.
