End of summer interview with the Goblin Boy.
Daniel (D): So, how was your summer?
Goblin Boy (GB): Good. Better than I think it was.
D: Why is that?
GB: Because I get to make a ship out of card board boxes.
D: Cool.
GB: And it’s my birthday.
D: Um, how was your birthday this year?
GB: Good. I got a toy ship.
D: AND…
GB: Tomorrow morning I’m going to make the wings for my cardboard ship. And I made the seat.
D: What was your favorite part of summer.
GB: It was going to my cousin’s (my papa and grandma) and seeing them.
D: You had fun playing together.
GB: Yeah.
D: How do you think the summer was for goblins?
GB: Um. That the creatures were actually all asleep because they don’t like Sundays because they’re all grumpy and tired and getting shovels putting coal into the fire.
D: Wow. The grumpy and tired part sounds like your dad.
GB: *Giggles* Good.
D: Am I tired and grumpy in the morning?
GB: Yes you are. I’m grumpy and tired now.
GB: I Just wanna go to bed. Are we DONE?!
D: Alright.
GB: Goodbye.
The goblin boy just turned 8 and he’s on to his last week of summer now.

Plink-instein…. How are they going to get supplies? Good luck guys!
They appreciate your support, I’m certain.
However, they could use a loan.
Wow, when does summer vacation start in your area? We used to get vacation right till september!
Yeah, in this desert region, summer vacation begins in May and ends right about now.
It’s just how they do it here.
No pies? No PIES! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH the horror! Coming from a country that runs on pies, that’s about the scariest thing I can think of. Those poor kids!
(I’m not even joking. You should see how much press coverage the pie of the year competition gets. But pies are largely meat-based here. I dream of visiting the US of A and trying things like key lime pie. And pecan pie. drooool…)
Wait, where was I? Oh. Well I think the Steam Crow needs a professional pie oven. Stat.
I LOVE pies! Meat pies, especially! You’re right, the Steam Crew hasn’t had a pie in ages. I want one NOW!
Here I will loan them my 100 billion plinks I have sitting right here.
Also have they every had jobs in the comic? I sort of remember some at the beginning where they were sad that they were gonna be late but they never got there.
Yeah, you’re right that they were at first going to work… and then they must have lost their jobs.
Then later, I figured out that they were in the middle of the Great Recession, and jobs are hard to had.
That makes sense!
Yes. Time for goblins to head back to school. Which means my shortcut to work is no longer a shortcut since it involves driving right past a school.
