The tallest person gets automatic shotgun. That was usually me. There was also a rule about how you could only call shotgun after everyone was outside of the building you were leaving, but before anyone had touched the car. We could be in the house and ready to leave and someone would yell "Shottie", as the shotgun seat was most desired. Until.. I invented the "rubber rule". If someone yelled "Shottie", I yelled "rubber rule" and what was supposed to be their prize, bounced off them and to the next guy! They learned quickly to shut their yappers and just get to the car seat without anybody "calling" their rights. It seems like a lifetime ago.
