When you come by to read Monster Commute, do you read these blog posts too?
Do you like them? Are they worth doing? I know that a lot of other comics don’t bother.

Do me a favor, and leave a quick comment to let me know that you do. (It’ll take 10 seconds.)
If you don’t, you wouldn’t have gotten this far anyway.
For my regular Crew of Commenters, you have my sincere thanks.

The blog posts show up in my RSS reader and I usually read them. I’m liking the stuff about the roleplaying game.
Hey Sponsz, get off my internet.
Hey, just wanted to say I do read the blogs, and I like everything you’ve done with the comic and the world it exists in. Also interested in updates on how your tabletop game is going. Keep up the good work.
It’s so awesome to hear from you guys! (Especially you lurker-folks; welcome aboard!)
I’m on the road today, which explains the brief blog today. (And this week…)
But I really appreciate your comments. Keep em coming!
I do read, but prefer pictures!
sometimes
People who don’t read the blog posts are missing half the story. If not more.
Yessir! The artist’s blog is always a fun read.
New here, so howdy-do. I’ve been happily reading along for a while, though!
I don’t comment often, but i definitely read the posts. Usually they are pretty interesting.
Great for keeping up with what’s happening in the world of Steam Crow.
I’m in ur website, readin’ ur posts
Me no likey big head-hurty word things but me read blogifications too.
I love the comic, and the blog does a lot of flesh out the world. Or de-flesh out. Um, expand upon.
I do read the blog, but I would understand if you stopped doing it. I imagine writing it on top of doing the comic everyday at 4:30 AM is taxing. You have my support no matter what you decide. Monster Commute rules!
My comment on today’s comic: Shocking!
Thanks, Glen!
My plan is to keep the blog posts rolling, as I can manage.
I mostly read the blog posts. It all depends on how much time I have when I am checking the comic and if the blog post draws me in with the first few sentences, but I always skim them at least. The RPG posts have been most interesting, though I don’t tend to comment much.
I always read the posts. I admit, I sometimes skim the RPG posts the first time through, but when I come back to re-read the strip I usually wind up reading them, too.
Love the blog posts, keep ‘em coming!
Also, can’t wait to see you guys at Phoenix Comicon!
Your blogs are tasty like pudding. I love ‘em.
I tend to read the blog posts only when they are related to the day’s comic. Of course, I have been liking the RPG stuff too. It is also nice to keep updated on your adventures…
hmmmm, I read it more than I realize. Just keep them short…I tend not to read the longish ones.
Glad to hear all of the RPG lovin. It’s turning into quite a project, I must admit.
I think that the first release of the RPG will likely be as a free download. (Where we can get your feedback, fix errata, etc.)
Then, I’ll fix stuff up, and likely release it as a physical print book.
Remember, the comic collections (physical books) have lots of RPG info too – > the cultural and world info is beneath each comic.
I read them in my google reader feed.
I love the rpg and am more likely to buy and rpg based on a comic than a collection of the comic itself. I’m weird that way.
Stop the blog posts and you die.
At first I thought that you were telling me to stop blogging and then die.
LOL
I read the posts! I also follow along on Twitter for that double-dose of Monster Commute goodness.
I do like the blog posts, but i must admit i skip them sometimes. I tink the RP sounds like a lot of fun. I moved to england just over a year ao, and left my gaming crew behind. I miss ‘em.
I generally don’t comment because I never know what to say. I do enjoy reading the blogs, especially when there’s little tidbits about the world.
I heard about the comic near the beginning from a friend at Ash Ave Comics. I read the blogs too each day cause they can be fun…And a little crazy
Hello all you lurkers! I was afraidMonCom was becoming a cult.
Also: The blog posts are amazing, I always read them. Of course, the RPG and world info stuff is the best.
and that
is all
Yeah, I read ‘em. Always worthwhile.
I think I commented on one of your blog posts, like, a year ago, but I’m too chicken to reply most of the time. XD But I read every single one of your posts! My favorites are always the ones explaining little things about the world pertaining to the most recent comics, that makes the little world building me inside squeal with glee.
I’d probably like the RPG posts a lot, too, if I had any knowledge of tabletop gaming. Truth be told, sitting around a table and vocally roleplaying scares me to death. Don’t judge my poor choice in wording, no!!! *cries*
But, yeah, if you skip a day here or there because you’re just too busy or would rather use that time for delicious sleep, go for it! It’s all up to you, Sir! I won’t be offended by the lack of commentary, but keep the little squealing innards people in mind!
Love the blog as well as the comic, but if you can only do one then definitely do the comic because frankly I’m addicted. The weekends are tough enough, if you were to stop altogether I might go into withdrawals and become somehow crazier than I already am.
I like the blog posts most of the time.
Ive never actually played a tabletop RPG but do enjoy reading about that grow as a project, although I did skim the longer posts on that subject.
I also like the fact that you mix it up a lot, you don’t just write about the same subjects all the time. I remember you did a piece where you interviewed a kid (your kid? you as a kid?) about monsters, this was strange but amusing!
Keep it going!
I’m a confirmed lurker, but I love reading the tidbits you throw out in your blog about the comic, the RPG and everything else. Keep it up – it’s a part of what makes MC so unique and keeps me a Patron!
I do read them.
I don’t think there’s a blog post of yours that I haven’t read. Even if I don’t have time to read the comic every day, I’ll always go back to see the comics and blog posts that I’ve missed. You’ve got some interesting tales to tell and information to pass on, both of which I always enjoy hearing.
I read and enjoy the comments, I also enjoy the twitter posts.
Yeah, the blog posts are cool. give a good feel for the comic. esp liked the interview a few days back
Love the comic and the posts!!!
I love reading your blog posts. They’re always interesting!
I always read the blog, but I don’t read the twitters. Don’t feel ‘forced’ to write blogs though. I would rather have a few really good blogs a week then 7 meh blogs, although it’s pretty rare that your blogs are meh, I also understand the time commitment so do what you think is best for Steam Crow!
You know, what I do typically for a number of webcomics is scroll down to check if the blog post is relevant to the (specific) comic. Adding more info to what’s going on, that sort of thing. When it is, I read it. Otherwise I judge based on how interesting it looks and whether I want to take the time.
Keep ‘em coming; nice to know whats going on behind the scenes.
oh absolutely–it’s part of the strip gestalt!
I read them often – at least diagonally
The roleplaying idea is interesting, although I do not know with whom I could play it … but I am thinking about adopting aspects of Monstru for a fantasy campaign – a group of adventurers journey into a magical monster steampunk world…
I read them now and again. Would miss them if they where not there.
WOW! Everyone came out of the woodwork for that reply..
I really enjoy the posts, keep em coming please
Wow!
Great responses everybody.
If you guys are the *only* ones reading the blog posts, then I’m IN!
Here’s what I’m taking away from all of this:
1. A LOT more people read the blog posts, than I thought. Awesome-swell!
2. I’m going to keep blogging most of the time, as long as I’ve got something to say.
3. The RPG posts seem to have a wide enough appeal… I mean, they’re about the world, not really game mechanics.
A lot of the future posts are likely going to be RPG related, but don’t let that scare you if you’re not a roleplay gamer.
I hope that many of these posts might interest you.
Why?
Because the RPG brings together and expands upon MONSTRU and the comic… greatly. I’m sharing how the world works, and how the folk interact.
In short, the RPG lends depth to MONSTRU that I can’t always show in the comic.
So, I’ll keep writing, if you keep reading.
Thanks for your support,
Patriot Davis
