Kaid Vocabulary
My son, like most children, makes up his own words.
Basically, kids don’t have a big vocabulary, and their world view is understandably tiny. That said, I think that this kind of creative invention is an amazing thing.
He’s getting older (almost 7), and sadly these invented words are becoming more and more scarce.
That said, I wanted to document some of them here for you. (And me.)
Mondi [mon-dee] – “Momma” and “Dada” at the same time.
Dowsh [dow-shh] – Truck.
Schoolnagers [skool-nay-jers] – Teenagers that attend a school.
Wuzaiga [wuh-zay-guh] – Godzilla, my son’s favorite movie monster.
The old 90′s [thee-old-nin-dees] – Anything from the entire history of the world that predates 2004 or so. World War I, WHAM, Ghengis Khan, the A-Team and King Tut are all equally from the “old 90′s.
Stunk [stuhngk] - Skunk, the mammal often stinks.
Bishburr [bish-ber] – Stormtrooper, from Star Wars.
Rocktaur [rok-tar] – A musical instrument used to play rock-n-roll music; guitar.
A few of these words were incorporated into our first book of monster haiku, Caught Creatures.

My daughter and I now use Whuzaiga as an exclamation. Fun words!
You don’t know it, but that made my day.
My granddaughter knows that six stringed instrument as a Kintow {Kin-Tao}.
She heard me call it a guitar and she kindly corrected me:
“its a kintow, paw paw”.
(Silly me!)
Poor guys, ”the old 90′s” is kind of a way to say you are a dinosaur.
Here are some of my favourites from our kids over the years:
BIP: “Please open the pop-top of this drink bottle and return it to me”
MOOPIE: Milk.
CRINGKRONT: Concrete.
There are pages more, but I forget things.
Those are awesome. GRINGKRONT! I might have to use that!
