It IS almost time for the candy feast, isn’t it?
Halloween is my favorite holiday, or at least the idea of it is. For 13 years, Dawna and I hosted a Halloween costume party in one way or another. One year in Spokane we even hired a banjo orchestra to play, which was pretty great.
After the rigorous Convention season of last year, we were too tired to put it on. Part of the trouble is that we don’t know all that many Phoenix folks. Another is that it’s still stinking hot in October here, so it does not really feel like autumn. We also have a modern house that seems kind of anti-Halloween to us. We need our 1920 house back!
This year, we’re traveling to the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco on Halloween. So, it’s going to be another partyless Halloween for us.
When Steam Crow is big enough to finally have an annual company “celebration” party, we’re going to do it on Halloween.
You may be invited.
