Here’s Dungeontown.
I’m pretty sure that it took me at least 5 times more work than a regular strip, though it’s not something that probably deserves such treatment. I just wanted it to look cool, and be a place that both you and I can visualize in a similar way.

Beautiful job! really love the glowing ‘shrooms
Hey, thanks! Reference helps.
I don’t know which statue I want more, a giant turtle over a circus tent surrounded by glowing mushrooms, or that Soviet Constructivist demon on the cracked Earth.
LOL.
Glad you like it.
The giant turtle moves so slowly, that nobody can really tell that he’s alive.
The statue is of a Gorgoth, showing how they intended to split “the Great Fissure” large enough to come out and overtake Monstru.
Wow! Gorgeous!
Hey, thanks!
Considering it is a Dungeontown, it has a certain awe of beauty.
Makes me want to zoom in closer!
I’m going to make a print of it… and maybe a desktop if I can find the time. Right now, I’m burning on all cylinders trying to get this book done!
Hey, I can see my house from here!
You don’t live in the Hive, do you?
*shutters*
No, we’re just the other side of the flesh rendering plant and abattoir.
That looks great Daniel. With all of the fine details in there, was your computer choking towards the end? Your right, that would make a pretty cool desktop background!
The computer did pretty well. It’s really not the elements or the number of them that gives me grief. I’ve got really good craftsmanship, so there aren’t that many points.
It’s the effects the Illustrator chokes with. The glows on the mushrooms, the statues, stuff like that. Move that around on the screen at all, and be prepared to wait.
Sad thing is that it isn’t like it’s 3D Studio Max or anything like that. It’s just a glow on an object.
Time to reprogram Illustrator.
