Now that the Monster Commute book is out to press (yes it is), I’ve been banging out plans and some of the things I’d like to accomplish in 2010.
Now, before I get all crazy looking towards new future projects, I’ve realized that I’ve got a whole lot to do to get our Con season rolling.
Here are a few things I’m thinking of:
- We’ve got a new con luggage system, which means that I need to develop a new button display, since the old one won’t fit in the new trunks.
- I need to design our 2010 sales flyer. We do one every year now, and I think that they work to get people to check us out.
- Before I design the flyer, I have to get our new online store running. (The flyer needs to show the store link.) The store here on Monster Commute works, but it’s not ideal. Every software update seems to destroy some of the features. Plus, when I launch other projects, I need the store to not be entirely MonCom-centric. Example: I’m on the SteamCrowX site, and I hit the SHOP button; suddenly I’m catapulted to MonCom? That would be weird. SteamCrow.com will be the new store, eventually.
- Once I get the store running, I’ve got to populate it with products. That is epic work. I have tons of products that have never been added to the store. I’ve got to do better than that.
- But, I can’t put products in until I have new, quality photos. Yep. The old photos are bad. I’ve got a new photo booth set up in Steam Crow Central, that we’ll be using.
- I’ve committed to doing new exclusive prints for a couple of upcoming cons.
So, if I’ve said “no thanks” to an opportunity or project of yours recently, this is why. It’s not that I don’t want to collaborate with you; I simply don’t have time.
The real kicker: I’ve gotta get all of this done before March.
So, my other top-secret projects are going to have to wait until I get more of my infrastructure back in place.
I could really use some time off to get this stuff done. (Or a bionic intern.)
But, it’s doable. It really is.

Sooo…will you be coming to Minnesota this year with all your neato things??
Hmmm… I’ve not found a suitable convention out that way, yet. Again, any larger comic cons near there this year?
I have no clue. I’d just like to see ya thisa way. I’d be sure to come out and see ya!!
I hear ya, man. I hear ya. I’d love to take a week off work to get caught up, but I need the time off to go to cons. LOL
I believe in you. You can do it!
Dirk Circus has a really cool design (the name’s not bad, either!).
