If you are looking for atmosphere, try the black and white creepfest "Carnival of souls" Of course, the original Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead are required zombie viewing. And if you REALLY want to go deep into strange zombie waters, go rent some of the truly bizarre Italian zombie flicks like Fulchi's "Zombie 2" which features a zombie vs. shark scene or "Grapes of Death" where two young girls take a train into a town that has turned due to the local wine being poisoned.
