So, yeah, I’m a totally fanboi® over the work of Mr. Mike Mignola.
It wasn’t by design, I tell ya. I had no plans on obsessing over his amazing noir artwork. It isn’t my fault that I’m a designer and his artwork is so very well designed. It’s just not fair.
I’ve met the man on many, many occasions (just to be a name-dropping fanboi) and he’s a pretty no-nonsense, blue collar sort of fella. I’ve tried to joke with him, but he isn’t really all into that. However, he is always a gentleman, and his wife and daughter are very cool people as well.
Let’s just say that he puts up with me. (Since he can sense my fanboism running at full-throttle like a cycle running of liquid adrenalin.)
I mention him here today because One: I named Mig Nola after the guy. (Whom you should be meeting shortly.) And Two: because he just launched a fabulous new website, the Art of Mike Mignola.
It’s about time.
I’m not exactly sure why he decided to get online now, as the age of the interwebs isn’t exactly a new thing. But, I’m sure glad that he finally did.
I guess the Mike approached it like anything else; with he was damned ready to do it.
